Technical Product × Solutions

What I bring

Close to both the problem and the system behind it — from figuring out what needs to change to working through the details and getting it shipped.

Figure out what needs building

Product

Turn requests and operational needs into clear requirements, user flows and priorities the team can work from.

Requirements, user flows, priorities and acceptance criteria based on how the work actually happens.

Stay close to the system

Technical

Work through APIs, data flows and technical trade-offs with engineers instead of treating implementation as a black box.

Web applications, APIs, data flows, automation and prototypes when building one is the quickest way to test an idea.

Get it shipped

Delivery

Keep business, design, engineering and QA aligned from definition through UAT and release.

UAT, release planning, follow-ups and the inevitable decisions about what ships now and what waits.

Some numbers behind the work

Impact

A few figures that put the products and teams I have worked on into perspective. Public company figures are linked to their sources.

10-person team

A few things I have worked on

Selected Work

Technical Product Management · Large-scale e-commerce

Shoalter

Problem
Changes to checkout or fulfilment rarely stay in one place. A single request can affect promotions, operations, customer flows and several systems at once.
Approach
Worked with business and operations teams to understand the request, map the edge cases and user flows, then take it through specification, development, UAT and release.
Outcome
That work included products such as Unlimited Add-on and 3 Hr Mart, both of which later reached substantial scale on HKTVmall.
  • 278,000+ unique customers used Unlimited Add-on in 2024
  • Approximately 70,000 product items at 3 Hr Mart launch
  • Company-reported scale

Co-founder & Product Director

itinni

Problem
Groups of 6–12 travellers needed a shared way to shape plans that worked for everyone.
Approach
We grew the team to 10 developers and designers and built shared itinerary planning for groups travelling together. At its peak, the product had roughly 100 daily users.
Outcome
Along the way, we pitched it at startup competitions and picked up three awards.
  • Team of 10
  • ~100 daily users
  • 3 awards

Product × Engineering case study

Travel Planner

Problem
Family travel planning needs to account for pace, mobility, stairs, meals, elders and children.
Approach
Started by working out what makes family trips difficult to plan, then designed the data model and itinerary workflow before building a working MVP.
Outcome
The prototype generates a structured starting point, but keeps the itinerary editable instead of treating the AI's answer as final.
  • Family constraints
  • Structured itineraries
  • Validated MVP

Small tools, real questions

Labs

Small projects and experiments that keep the hands-on technical side alive outside day-to-day product work.

MusicCompare

Steven Wong and I built MusicCompare to experiment with comparing two pieces of music directly in the browser. It later became part of the 2020 GitHub Archive Program.

ICT SBA — Football Match Scoring

My secondary-school ICT project: a football scoring system written in Pascal. It stays here because it is where programming started to become something I took seriously.

Where it started

Education

Computer Science at CUHK came first, followed later by an MSc in Information Systems Management at HKUST, with an exchange semester at Aalto University in between.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

BSc Computer Science

Where the software foundation came from.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

MSc Information Systems Management

A broader view of how technology works inside organisations.

Aalto University

Exchange studies

One semester studying and living in Finland.

Quote of the day

A practical idea to carry forward

We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done.

我們只能看見前方不遠之處,但已足以看見許多有待完成的事情。
